Thanksgiving pics

Playing in the snow! The "Michelin Girl!"
Partying with ZeZe (she has a hat on...but wasn't cooperating for the camera!)
Rob's 21st Bday party (we all wore party hats)
Making Rob's cake with Mimi
This girl LOVES to cook
Thanksgiving was great and was spent with my Mom, Dad and brother Rob in Woodland Park. We had a great time lounging around and eating good food. We celebrated my brother's 21st birthday early so we could give him presents. We just had so much fun being together. The only bummer of the trip is Jarrod ended up getting my horrible cold. He's still getting over it but seems to be moving through it much quicker than I did. I think it took me just about 3 weeks to get over it! Oh the fun of being pregnant and sick!
Makayla said something really funny this morning that I thought i would share. I was getting her breakfast and I handed her a container of yogurt. She turned to me and said "thanks mom. You saved my life." Okay! I have no idea where that came from but it sure made me chuckle!

what we're up to!

Makayla decided to wear a trash can on her head for a morning. Fortunately, it was a clean trash can!
Spunky gal
Cooking with mom!
My most recent project
We have been busy around here with projects. Makayla has taken up a big interest in cooking and wants to help me all the time. When she sees me getting my apron out, she immediately will go get hers and her stool. Her latest thing is wanting to crack eggs. Yeah, that's not going to happen for awhile! She has also been star-gazing every evening with her dad. She loves looking at the stars. Jarrod is going to take on more painting...poor thing. He needs to get a job soon before I make him paint the whole house!
Job update: No job. :( He had a potential offer last week but it is looking like the company is needing more time to make some internal adjustments with staff before they bring him on. They say that he is the one they want to hire but it probably won't be until end of this month or early December. Agg. The waiting is brutal.
Thought I would also show off my most recent knitting endeavor modelled by Makayla's baby doll! I am making a few pairs of these for some gals at work who are also having boys. They are really easy and fast. Love it!

Our princess

Looking cute!
Pre-sugar high!
This was Makayla's first year to trick-or-treat and she had a blast. She loved getting her fingernails painted and putting a little makeup on. She had a grand time trick-or-treating with her dad. I stayed at the house to man the candy bowl. We were out of candy before 7:45. It was pretty chilly so Jarrod took her to only about 8 houses but she got plenty of candy. She also loved handing out candy to the kids. She announced which kids were "scary." It was pretty cute.

Pumpkin Fun

Last night we carved our pumpkins and had a lot of fun doing it! It was such a mess but Makayla loved every minute. If it had been up to her, we would have carved very elaborate pictures on our pumpkins but we opted for happy faces. We also let our baby boy in on the action and colored my belly. Makayla had fun cleaning my belly after it was all over. She begged to color on her belly!

the latest

Makayla has been saying the funniest stuff lately. I taught her the word "creepy" yesterday and she kept saying "crappy." She told me that she was going to make me look crappy. I couldn't stop laughing. Then on saturday, Jarrod told her she was pretty and she responded "I know." I need to write this stuff down.

Chuck E Cheese

We have had so much fun this week spending time with my friend Jen and her two daughters who are visiting from Brooklyn, NY. They used to live 2 blocks from us and moved to NYC this past spring. They are so much fun for us to be around and we miss them like crazy. It has been such a blessing for us to see them!

Good 'ole Chuck! This week we met our friends Jen and Kendra and their kids for lunch at Chuck E Cheese. This was our first time there and Makayla loved it. She had to watch her friend Amelia demonstrate how to work the rides a few times before she took the plunge but eventually she was all over the place. Her favorite part was putting the tokens in the machines and I had to stop her from putting too many in. It was really fun watching the kids have so much fun although I think I'll have Jarrod take her there next time!

Please continue to pray about Jarrod's job situation. His last day at his job is friday and we are still searching!

musical makayla

***DISCLAIMER*** After you play the video, a page comes up for U Tube and along the bottom it says "Related Videos." Please be aware, these videos have nothing to do with our Makayla and please don't click on them. Some of them may be inappropriate. Thanks! If you want to watch our video again, click on the "Play" button in the lower left of the video screen.

This is a video sharing Makayla's musical talent. She is in a fun stage right now where she busts out into song at various times of day. She mostly sings Twinkle, Twinkle, Jingle Bells, Itsy Bitsy Spider and Happy Birthday. My favorite is when she looks out the window at night, sees stars and belts out twinkle, twinkle. It's very cute.

While we were out and about today, she told me that her favorite song was "Sweet Escape" by Gwen Stefani. Whenever she hears it on the radio, she tries to sing it. It makes me laugh.

One of her favorite things to do is to play drums with her dad. Jarrod bought a full drum kit from a friend awhile back and she loves to sit on his lap while he jams. But my favorite is on laundry day, she will play a drum solo for me, as if to spur me on, and will totally blast my eardrums out. It's great. Wish you were here!
